NTC & Temperature Sensor Q&A
Q:What isNTC thermistor? What types are there?
A:The property of resistance decreasing as temperature rises is called negative temperature characteristic, and the thermistor used to represent the negative temperature characteristic is calledNTC thermistor (Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermal sensitivity resistor).
Common types include: single-ended glass-sealed type, bead-type small black head, bead-type enameled wire, bead-type small rubber wire, snap-in small black head, insulated film type, diode,Power typeAs well as chip resistors.
Q:What are the technical parameters of NTC thermistors? Please give examples.
A:The main technical parameters include: nominal resistance value (5K/10K/50K/100K...), resistance tolerance (accuracy)(1%/3%/5%/10%), resistance temperature coefficient (B value) (3270/3380/3435/3470/3950/4000/4050/4500...), operating temperature range (℃) (-30℃-105℃/-30℃-125℃/-40℃-250℃...), material constant, time constant...
Q:What isWhat is the B value of an NTC thermistor?
A:The B value is the material constant (thermal index) of a temperature coefficient thermistor, with the unit being Kelvin (K). After high-temperature sintering, semiconductor ceramics undergo a series of processing steps to form NTC thermistor chips with a certain resistivity. Each formulation and sintering temperature has only one B value. The B value of an NTC thermistor is positively correlated with the product's resistance temperature coefficient, meaning that the larger the B value, the greater its resistance temperature coefficient.
The B value formula of NTC thermistor is: B=T1T2Ln(RT1/RT2)/(T2-T1), where B: the B value of the NTC thermistor, provided by the manufacturer; RT1, RT2: the resistance values of the thermistor at temperatures T1 and T2 respectively; T1, T2: absolute temperature scale.
The B value of NTC thermistors is generally between 2000K and 6000K. Different B values can be selected according to different application ranges. In general, for products used for temperature measurement, temperature compensation, and surge suppression, a larger B value can be selected. Because as the temperature changes, products with a larger B value have a greater change in resistance value, which means that the larger the B value of the NTC thermistor, the more sensitive it is during use and the faster the response time.
Q:OrderWhat data is needed to be provided for an NTC thermistor?
A:If the resistance type has already been determined, you need to inform the resistance value,The B value, accuracy, and required resistance length are sufficient; if the type is uncertain, then the usage temperature, usage scenario, as well as the resistance value, B value, accuracy, and required resistance length are needed.
Q:How fast is the response speed of an NTC thermistor?
A:Response time is defined as reaching62% or the time required for the new temperature, and is a function of mass. The smaller the sensor, the faster the response. Discrete sensors respond faster than the same sensor packaged in a metal housing. The typical response time of MF52 series NTC thermistor sensors is <15 seconds.
Q:Q: What type of temperature sensors are your temperature sensors? What types are available?
A:Our temperature sensors mostly belong toNTC temperature sensors, depending on the usage scenario and structure, are available in straight tube type, threaded type, flange type, bullet head type, epoxy resin encapsulated type, locking piece terminal type, ABS plastic shell type, and film type. In addition, we also have PT100/PT1000 temperature sensors, DS18B20 temperature sensors, thermocouples, and infrared temperature sensors.
Q:Do you have temperature sensors in stock? Do you support customization?
A:Temperature sensors are specialized products, and different customers have different needs. Most in-stock products are epoxy resin-sealed type, while other types are fewer.
Our products support customization. The thermistors to be used can be selected, and the customizable parts also include: the length, size, and shape of hardware parts, the model, specification, and length of wires, and the selection of different types of connectors.
Q:When it is unclear what type of temperature sensor needs to be used, can you make a recommendation?
A:Of course. Since we handle many types of contacts, when customers are unclear, we will recommend products based on the customer's usage scenario and specific needs, so that customers can get satisfactory products. In addition, we can also promptly cooperate with customers to adjust product designs according to their requirements and customize satisfactory products that customers need.
Q:Does it involve products in the new energy field?
A:New energy has been a hot topic in recent years, and it must be included in our products. Not only new energy,We also cover products used in 3D printing and other fields, which is quite extensive.

Q: How can the R-T table for NTC thermistors and temperature sensors be obtained?
A: Yes, products will have corresponding R-T tables, and the data of different manufacturers are inherently different. If you need the R-T table for a product, you can contact and consult our personnel.
Q: Can you help design products and draw drawings?
A: Yes, it is possible. Drawing the product requires providing data for each component of the product, including material, dimensions, and other special requirements, and special authorization is also required.
