NTC & Temperature Sensor Q&A
Q:What isNTC thermistor? What types are there?
A:The property that resistance decreases as temperature rises is called negative temperature characteristic, and a thermistor used to represent the negative temperature characteristic is calledNTC thermistor (Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermal sensitivity resistor).
Common types include: single-end glass-sealed type, bead-type small black head, bead-type enameled wire, bead-type small leather wire, snap-in type small black head, insulated film type, diode、Power typeand chip resistors.
Q:What are the technical parameters of NTC thermistors? Please give examples.
A:Main technical parameters include: nominal resistance (5K/10K/50K/100K...)、Resistance tolerance (accuracy)(1%/3%/5%/10%), resistance temperature coefficient (B value) (3270/3380/3435/3470/3950/4000/4050/4500...)、Operating temperature range (℃)(-30℃-105℃/-30℃-125℃/-40℃-250℃...), material constant, time constant...
Q:What isWhat is the B value of an NTC thermistor?
A:The B value is the material constant (thermal index) of a temperature-coefficient thermistor, with the unit of Kelvin temperature (K). After high-temperature sintering, semiconductor ceramics undergo a series of processing steps to form NTC thermistor chips with a certain resistivity. Each formulation and sintering temperature has only one B value. The B value of an NTC thermistor is positively correlated with the product's resistance temperature coefficient, meaning that the larger the B value, the larger its resistance temperature coefficient.
The B value formula for NTC thermistors is: B=T1T2Ln(RT1/RT2)/(T2-T1). Where B: the B value of the NTC thermistor, provided by the manufacturer; RT1, RT2: the resistance values of the thermistor at temperatures T1 and T2 respectively; T1, T2: absolute temperature scale.
The B value of NTC thermistors is generally between 2000K and 6000K, and different B values can be selected according to different application ranges. In general, for products used for temperature measurement, temperature compensation, and surge suppression, a larger B value can be selected. Because as the temperature changes, products with a large B value have a greater change in resistance value, which means that the larger the B value of the NTC thermistor, the more sensitive it is during use and the faster the response time.
Q:OrderWhat data needs to be provided for NTC thermistors?
A:If the resistor type has already been determined, you need to inform the resistance value,B value, accuracy, and the required length of the resistor are sufficient; if the type is uncertain, then temperature, usage scenario, resistance value, B value, accuracy, and the required length of the resistor are needed.
Q:How fast is the response speed of NTC thermistors?
A:Response time is defined as reaching62% or the time required for the new temperature, and it is a function of mass. The smaller the sensor, the faster the response. The response speed of a discrete sensor is faster than the same sensor packaged in a metal housing. The typical response time of MF52 series NTC thermistor sensors is <15 seconds.
Q:What type of temperature sensors are your company's temperature sensors? What types are there?
A:Our company's temperature sensors mostly belong toNTC-type temperature sensors, depending on the usage scenario and structure, are available in straight tube type, threaded type, flange type, bullet head type, epoxy resin encapsulated type, locking tab terminal type, ABS plastic housing type, and film type. In addition, our company also has PT100/PT1000 temperature sensors, DS18B20 temperature sensors, thermocouples, and infrared temperature sensors.
Q:Do your company's temperature sensors have stock? Do you support customization?
A:Temperature sensors are specialized products, and different customers have different needs. Most in-stock products are epoxy resin-sealed type, while other types are fewer.
Our products support customization. The thermistors to be used can be selected, and the customizable parts also include: the length, size, and shape of hardware parts, the model, specification, and length of wires, and the selection of different types of connectors.
Q:When it is unclear what type of temperature sensor needs to be used, can you make a recommendation?
A:Of course, because we come into contact with many types, when customers are unclear, we will recommend products based on the customer's usage scenario and specific needs, so that customers can get satisfactory products. In addition, we can also promptly cooperate with customers to adjust product design according to their requirements, and customize satisfactory products that customers need.
Q:Are products related to new energy involved?
A:New energy has been a hot topic in recent years, and it must be among our products. Not only new energy,We are also involved in products used in 3D printing and other fields, and our coverage is quite broad.

Q: How can the R-T table of NTC thermistors and temperature sensors be obtained?
A: Yes, products will have corresponding R-T tables, and the data from different manufacturers is itself different. If you need the R-T table for a product, you can contact and consult our personnel.
Q: Can your company help design products and draw drawings?
A: Yes, it is possible. The drawing of the product requires providing data for each component of the product, including material, dimensions, and other special requirements, and special authorization is also required.
